Amanda Leviner
Amanda Leviner attended Charleston Southern University where she studied Religion and Music. She immersed herself in student life, serving in multiple leadership roles. She traveled to churches around the Southeast leading worship with New Vision, and leading youth Bible studies for Discipleship Weekends.
In 2009, Amanda was appointed to serve as a Dorchester County Magistrate and continues to serve in this capacity. After switching gears to public service in 2009, she decided to return to school and obtained her law degree from the Charleston School of Law in 2014. While there, she served as a resource to the school’s administration as a member of the Executive Leadership Council and enjoyed volunteering in the Charleston community as a member of the legal fraternity, Phi Alpha Delta.
In her second year of law school, Amanda co-founded and served as President of the Charleston chapter of Street Law, a national organization dedicated to educating young people on the legal system. Staying true to her passion for children in foster care, Amanda worked with her volunteers to create a curriculum focusing Street Law’s efforts entirely on educating children in DSS custody. She partnered with local group homes, and her team instructed foster children on their rights under the law and worked to enlighten these young people as to certain opportunities due to their status in the system.
Before her final year in law school, she studied International Human Rights Law abroad at University College London, spending a month in Europe and developing a broader understanding of the issues facing the International Courts. During her final year, the Legal Writing Department chose her to serve as a student clerk in the Federal District Court to the Hon. Richard Gergel. Amanda was also selected by the Dean of Students to participate in the Petigru Inn of Court, where she volunteered for public service projects, worked with her team to present CLE materials, and furthered her education in the law alongside Charleston’s greatest legal minds.
While in law school, she became involved with the Maes Law Firm on a volunteer basis and was brought on as an associate upon being sworn into the SC Bar in November, 2014.
In 2017 Amanda purchased the business and named it the Leviner Law Firm, maintaining its roots in domestic litigation while developing her role as a guardian ad litem for private domestic and probate matters. She currently serves on the executive board of the Dorchester County Bar as the Vice President and several non-profit Boards of DIrectors throughout the community..
